Ford is rapidly expanding its electric van lineup in the UK, with the newly unveiled E-Transit Courier set to join the current E-Transit and the soon-to-be-launched E-Transit Custom.
The E-Transit Courier is based on a new car-derived platform, which is an evolution of the underpinnings found on the Fiesta and Puma passenger cars.
Details on the new model are limited, but Ford has confirmed that production will commence in 2024.
The van is powered by a 136PS motor that drives the front wheels and has a 100kW charging capability.
Petrol and diesel variants of the new Transit Courier will be available for sale in the summer.
The total cargo volume of the van is now 2.9 cubic metres, which is 26% more than the outgoing model. This can be further increased using the new load-through bulkhead feature, which enables customers to carry items such as planks or pipes over 2,600mm long.
The maximum payload for the all-electric model is 700Kg, with a maximum towing weight of 750Kg.
The “digiboard” instrument panel includes a 12-inch digital cluster and a 12-inch center touchscreen with Ford’s latest SYNC 4 system. A subscription-based connected navigation system can provide updates on traffic, parking, charging, and local hazards.

The E-Transit Courier will make its public debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, UK, from April 18-20 and is scheduled to enter production later in 2024.
